sanoLiving and Desjardins Insurance Partner to Improve Women’s Health Through Evidence-Based Virtual Care Across Canada
Press Release
Tuesday, January 20, 2026
Richmond Hill, ON: Women make up nearly half of Canada’s workforce, yet their unique health needs are often misunderstood or treated in isolation, leading to preventable impacts on their well-being and on their personal and work lives. To help address this, Desjardins Insurance has partnered with sanoLiving, Canada’s largest digital women’s health platform, to provide earlier, evidence-based care that supports women across multiple stages of life and helps employers retain valued talent.
Across Canadian benefit plans, women are overrepresented in drug, extended health and disability claims, not because they are higher-cost employees, but because today’s care models are fragmented and not built for the way women’s health actually works. This partnership is designed to close those gaps by giving women coordinated, personalized support that addresses health concerns proactively rather than reactively.
Through this collaboration, Desjardins Insurance, one of Canada’s leading insurers and North America’s largest cooperative financial group, will offer access to sanoLiving’s integrated women’s health platform. sanoLiving’s care model combines AI-guided assessments, personalized care plans, dedicated Health Coaches and licensed clinicians, and coordinated clinical pathways.
Plan members receive timely care that can include comprehensive bloodwork, prescriptions, supplement recommendations, lifestyle strategies and referrals as required, supporting women across hormonal, metabolic, mental, gynecologic, cardiometabolic and chronic disease risks, including targeted support for midlife transitions, a major driver of workplace absenteeism and benefit costs.
“When women’s health needs go unaddressed, we see more drug use, longer leaves and valued talent stepping out of the workforce,” said Angela Johnson, CEO and Co-Founder of sanoLiving. “Our partnership with Desjardins Insurance brings earlier, evidence-based support to women and gives employers a meaningful way to strengthen retention while easing avoidable pressures on benefit and disability costs.”
Desjardins Insurance will make sanoLiving’s evidence-based women’s health platform available to plan sponsors, giving plan members access to personalized virtual care supported by women’s health experts. This approach helps employers better support women’s health, strengthen retention, and reduce avoidable pressures on benefit and disability plans.
“At Desjardins, we’re committed to helping Canadian women access the preventative care they need throughout midlife — a stage that plays a critical role in shaping long-term health and well-being. By evolving our benefits to better support this transition, we aim to reduce avoidable chronic illness and strengthen health outcomes for our members,” said Marie-France Amyot, Senior vice-president of group and business insurance, Desjardins Insurance. “Our partnership with sanoLiving ensures more women have access to trusted, evidence-based midlife and menopause care—support that helps women understand their health, manage symptoms, and protect their quality of life.”
sanoLiving partners with more than 1,400 employers, supporting over 1.6 million members nationwide. Women using the platform report an 80% improvement in quality of life and a 50% boost in work performance within just two months, driven by AI-powered tools, coaching, and clinical programs spanning hormonal, metabolic, and mental health, as well as chronic disease prevention and longevity.
